Save some VAT and get your chosen products before Christmas
You may well have heard that VAT is going up on the 2nd January 2011. But what does this mean to you? Well,
in short, you'll end up paying more for your stuff than you do now.
VAT currently stands at 17.5%, which means that for most of the stuff we buy, the government
adds on 17.5% to the cost. We don't normally get to see the split between what the shop gets to keep,
and the amount they pay over to the government, because the amount shown in the shop is the amount we pay, and this includes
the VAT. Anyway, the important bit here is that the amount we pay to the government is going up to 20%. And this
means we'll pay more for our stuff.
How can I pay less
We all want to pay less for our stuff, but should you choose to buy after 2nd January, you won't have any choice
but to pay the increased VAT level. But at the moment you do have an option, buy your stuff before 2nd January 2011, and you
will get your stuff at the lower VAT rate - so saving money.
And you'll get it for Christmas
Buying now to pay the lower VAT rate has the added bonus of being able to have your
stuff for Christmas. Now that's a bonus you don't often get - buy before Christmas and
pay less.
But I haven't got the money now

Not having the money is always the problem, you want to buy now to pay the lower amount; but, it's
