All Inclusive holidays are a great way to spend a few days in the sun with your family. But what exactly does "all inclusive" cover? Well, here I'll give you a few ideas on what you'll get in an all inclusive holiday.

Food and drink

The first thing to talk about, and probably the most important, is the food and drink. What generally happens with an all inclusive holiday is that you get your breakfast, lunch and dinner all served as a "buffet". They'll be all sorts to pick from, and you can have a little - or as much - as you like. The joy of the buffet style meal is that you get to pick exactly what you want for your meal. So, should you have a fussy eater in your family, they can pick what they want to eat - and everyone goes away happy!

Snacks and soft drinks are available during the day, so should you have children who are hungry again about 4½ minutes after finishing their meal, you won't have to keep forking out for snacks. They can just go and help themselves to a little snack. There's nothing more likely to spoil your family holiday than having a child constantly going on about being hungry!

Alcohol is free of charge too. But make sure you know what you're getting when you book though. If your favourite beverage is a nice pint of Stella, you may be disappointed - as most alcohol provided free of charge is locally produced. You still get a nice drink though - and I find it always tastes nicer when you don't have to pay for it!

Facilities and entertainment

Different hotels have different facilities and entertainment on offer, but you'll get some sports facilities and entertainment provided free of charge. The type of thing to expect would be volleyball, football, aqua-aerobics, snorkeling... that type of thing. Check when you book your holiday though, because, as I say, all hotels provide different facilities.

Children's Clubs

Chances are you'll find a kids club at the hotel. These are great for the whole family: the children can join the club and meet new friends. While you can spend a little time relaxing on one of the sun loungers, and getting into a good book - safe in the knowledge that the children are all being looked after.

Easy to budget

The main advantage I find with all inclusive holidays is it makes budgeting for your holiday so much easier. You just pay for the holiday - and everything else is free of charge (some holidays even include free entry to a waterpark during the duration of your holiday, have a look at the First Choice Splash Resorts for more information). Whereas, should you decide not to take an all inclusive holiday, you'll have to pay out for each meal (and the snacks for the children) - this is always an unknown amount, and could well cost more than you think!

Find some all inclusive holidays

If you're thinking "yes, maybe an all inclusive holiday is the one for me", have a look at the all inclusive holidays featured, there's plenty of choice out there, so you should be able to find something to suit your holiday needs.

I'm planning our next all inclusive package holiday to Majorca - if you're look at Majorca too, look at the Majorca all inclusive holidays, and see what you think.
